Wokshop Descriptions

Please note that there will be a maxium of 25 couples (50 people) per workshop. 

Workshop 1 - Phrasing for Movement and Musicality (All Levels): Everything becomes easy with phrasing.  This class focuses on working with the movement of the dance to the phrasing of the music.

Workshop 2 - Technique for Leaders and Followers (All Levels): The lass will divide into two groups.  The leaders will go with Tara, the followers with Nick.  Nick and Tara will then spend time with each group working on technique.

Workshop 3 - Musicality, Structure and Technique (Beginners): Another musicality class.  This time instead of focusing on the phrasing of the music, the class will focus generally on working with musicality and the strcture of the movement

Workshop 4 - Structure of Nuevo Tango (Intermediate): In this workshop we start to explore the structure and movement of Nuevo Tango.  Nuevo Tango takes the traditional concepts of Tango, and plays with them.

Workshop 5 - Milonga Traspie (Intermediate): Among the different ways of dancing Mlonga there is Traspie.  Traspie can be described as a musical game with the music that begins with the dancer's bodies in responce to the base rhythm.

Workshop 6 - Nuevo in Close Embrace (Advance): Following on from the previous Nuevo Tango workshop, we explore creating space to execute all of your open embrace movements in close embrace.

Workshop 7 - Unexpected Combinations (Advance): Using our knowledge of Tango, we explore building new movements from old ones.

Workshop 8 - Dynamic Walking (Intermediate): Effortless big steps, effortless little steps.  In this workshop we work on our walking, working to make it look effortless no matter how large a step we take.
